The usual structure of a gene consists of a coding region (CDS) surrounded by regulatory regions located upstream or 5' (5'-UTRs) or downstream or 3' (3'-UTRs).
La estructura habitual de un gen consiste en una región codificante (CDS) rodeada por las regiones reguladoras localizadas corriente arriba o 5' (5'-UTRs) o corriente abajo o 3' (3'-UTRs).
